"waiting for friends": Watercolour painting
I made this small watercolor painting in 2021, to answer that call in my soul to once again just be in the physical presence of friends and family. not anything fancy, just to enjoy a cup of tea with a friend in a sunlit room. the painting carries with it the sense of anticipation and joy we get when eagerly waiting to welcome a loved one home.

"emerging into the light": i made this watercolour painting in 2020, it could mean different things to different viewers. to some , the twin lotuses signify sincere love and togetherness. I painted it to reflect the buddhist philiosophy of lotuses (our inner potential) emerging from the darkness of our daily lives. you see, a lotus just cannot bloom in clear water. it needs the mud.

“Awareness": painted in 2022, this composition of three white-tail deer in their winter fur coat spoke to me for the absolute stillness and alertness it depicts. Not just the deer, even the snowy background speaks of stillness. It was a meditative journey to paint this one, and I hope the viewer can look into the captivating eyes of the deer to see that quality of awareness
